MINNESOTA FOOD TRUCK ASSOCIATION

MISSION STATEMENT

THE MINNESOTA FOOD TRUCK ASSOCIATION IS A RESOURCE THAT PROVIDES OPEN COMMUNICATION THROUGHOUT THE MOBILE FOOD INDUSTRY AND SPOTLIGHTS THE DIVERSITY OF THE CULINARY LANDSCAPE THROUGH EDUCATION, ADVOCACY AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH.

We, the undersigned owners/operators of food trucks in Minnesota, in recognition of the duty we have as responsible business owners to respect the communities that we serve, hereby agree to abide by the following provisions in the operation of our businesses and vehicles:

  • Maintain the highest standards of business integrity by abiding by all laws, rules and regulations applicable to our operations and carrying them out in an ethical manner
  • Cooperate with our fellow members and the MFTA by advancing the interests of the Association and the food truck industry generally
  • Be fair, ethical and respectful to our employees, employers, customers, vendors, associates, competitors and the public in all of our dealings
  • Handle disputes and concerns in a courteous and straightforward manner, refraining from disparaging other trucks and taking issues back to the Association as necessary for proper handling and administration
  • Honor our commitments to events
  • Maintain at least $1 million of liability insurance
  • Keep our vehicles and the areas around our vehicles clean and remove all trash at the end of our service period, ideally leaving the location cleaner than when we arrived
  • Manage customers and lines and eating areas in a manner that keeps nearby sidewalks and building entrances free of impediments and able to be navigated
  • Maintain a friendly, professional and courteous attitude towards other business owners and regulatory and law enforcement officials
  • Contribute to the communities we serve through charitable contributions, volunteering, participating in fund-raising events and engaging in community service activities
  • Support the MFTA by taking an active role in meetings and events and upholding our Code of Conduct and adhering to our Bylaws, including the Board imposed consequences for violating these rules
